From those who cannot attend …

Several graduates have contacted us at the Milford High School All-Class Committee to express their greetings from afar and regrets that they cannot make it in person to the 2023 All-Class Reunion planned for June 24. Among these:

Peter Everill from the Class of 1955 wrote to us on June 14, 2023:

“[I] am so disappointed that I can’t make the reunion. I arrived in the USA in ‘53 and started class in ‘54. I can’t express how well I was treated by the class. I never felt like a foreigner. For that I will always be thankful. Thanks Charlie and all the group. Have a great time.”

Larry Anderson from the Class of 1966 wrote to us on June 9, 2023:

“Hi, this is Larry Anderson, MHS class of '66. Due to circumstances, I am unable to attend. You may remember me as one of the class clowns and quite a deadly shot on the basketball court (just ask Tim Hennessey and Ernie Pepe). I wish you all a joyous time and wonderful memories. Hoist a beer for me!!!! GO INDIANS!

Sandy Ember Hunting from the Class of 1974 wrote to us on May 27, 2023:

Hello MHS!

“Thank you for the invite for the all-class reunion scheduled for this June 24th, 2023!!  I have missed so many and was hoping to at least catch one more given the older we are all getting.  But I have to share that although I would absolutely love to join everyone, right now it is a difficult June with lots of graduations, birthdays, travel baseball, and 43rd wedding anniversary to be had, which makes this opportunity a tad harder especially coming from Sacramento, CA. Happy to say I am well and happy and crossing my fingers for the next reunion. So please keep my address and contact.  I hope this turn-out is wonderful for all.  Have a great time and sorry I cannot make it, but until the next time, a big thank you!!”

Cindy Perez wrote to us on May 21, 2023: “I had hoped to make this one, but unfortunately again I found out too late to make plans.  I have lived in Tampa Bay Area since 1987. Still make it back to Milford occasionally, but not often and hardly ever with my car. Best wishes to all of you, and have a great reunion.”

Lucy Gage Bogue from the Class of 1975 wrote to us on April 26, 2023: “Hi committee! I would so love to join you in Milford for this reunion.  Unfortunately, the reunions are consistently scheduled during those last weeks in June, when I am (and have been for a couple of decades) directing a kids' summer program.  Hi to the Class of '75 and the classes on either side of our year!  Stay cool and have fun!”

William Morrison from the Class of 1953 wrote to us on April 24, 2023:
“Sorry to miss the reunion.  A long way from Palo Alto, CA. My very best to all who attend. I was born a Connecticut Yankee and I will die a Connecticut Yankee.”

Peggy Powell Toohey from the Class of 1962 wrote to us on April 21, 2023:
“Living in Florida for 38 years. I wish I could be there. I wanted to go to other all class reunions, but unfortunately I was not able. My husband was in the Navy and I went to college 1977-83. Best wishes for a fun and successful reunion to all who are able to attend. I will mention this to my brothers. James still lives in Connecticut (Class of '68) and Robert lives in California (Class of '61).”

Jim Luchs from the Class of 1967 wrote to us on April 22, 2023:
“Greetings and salutations MHS alumni!  I am sending this to you to regretfully let you know that I will be unable to attend the All-Class Reunion on June 24th.  As much as I would like to attend I have other things scheduled for the following week and since I live a pretty long distance from Milford I just can’t swing it. I would really like to attend the next reunion so please keep me on the mailing list.  Best wishes to all, hope you have a great time.”

Did You Know? After the Parsons Complex renovation
the Milford High marker at the front door was removed?

Petition will be available
at June 24 reunion event
to re-install MHS marker

Be sure to stop by the old main entrance to Milford High facing the Duck Pond on June 24 and sign the petition that Daryle Ann Czajkowski (‘74) and Henry (Chip) Czajkowski (‘68) have prepared asking the city to restore the former stone marker that was unceremoniously chipped off the building after the city took over.

“Most people probably don’t know that it was removed when the city took over the building,” said Daryle Ann. “I have always felt that by its removal, it erased the memory of the many years where so many of Milford’s teens were educated.”

If the face on the right of the picture above looks familiar to some, well that’s because it’s Henry (Chip) Czajkowski (‘68), a former art teacher at Milford High (1972-73) who was transferred to Foran HS when it opened (1973-74) and was the last remaining former MHS teacher remaining in the system until his retirement in 2022.
