A Note From Jim English to Fellow Classmates

Hello Classmates:

I will not be able to attend the 24 June 23 reunion, but wish everyone good health and long life. Per the reunion page, I provide some information that some may wish to hear and a picture of my wife, Sherie and I - at left - ages: Sherie -76, and, myself -77.
I also pass along the following news:
Joanne Knight (Nashville, TN) died on July 18, 2021 having been ill for several months. She was a History teacher at MHS in 1963, my senior year. Lovely lady and very good teacher who I am pleased to have called my friend over the past 20 years.
Dorita (Pierce) Pluchino died unexpectedly, I believe, in Dec. 2020. May have been a result of COVID or FLU. She was 75, I think. A lovely young woman with great personality in high school who I never forgot. We re-connected sometime in 2009 and corresponded until her death. Very hard to accept as she loved life and, I think, had so much more she wished to do. Her husband, John, is still alive and I know he misses her.
If anyone is interested in contacting me my email is: jimenglish.1@netzero.net. I am retired but still active; run four miles 4x a week and have been doing so for more than 45 yrs – if not for it, I most likely would have gone crazy and be dead.
But, I have been most fortunate in many ways. I am so thankful to still “see the sun,” as so many of my very good friends no longer can. I visit cemeteries more often than I care too, now. And as Mr. Jefferson stated, “I steer my bark with Hope in the head, and Fear astern,” which is advice I have followed all my life; will continue to do so, and hope you do as well.
So from the beautiful state of Alabama, I wish all of you much Happiness!
